Ok so we rebuilt the ka24de and we lined all of the marks up on the timing chain when we did everything and it still dont seem to be running right, maybe off a little bit. So neways we went and bought these s13 exhaust cams but i get them home a look at them and realize that they are slightly different.

heres some pics:

notice that the sprocket bolts are in different areas and the little holes(dont know the name) along the cams are not in the same position. and one has a number 5 while the other has a 3 on it. These both are brown painted and both came out of an s13....so is one 248 and the other 240 or what? we were gona put these in with hopes of getting it right, but now they arent the same either. So do yall have any advice as to what went wrong with the timing?? all the marks lined up when we put them in but it still doesnt run correctly....its slow and the intake makes a weird noise whenever you hit the throttle....any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks.

hey whats sup man..Its ur buddy from myspace. its wierd i just happened to bump into ya. LoL. Anyways compare the lobes and intake dots to the jim wolf technology site at dead top center Mode...if i remember correctly my S13 intake cam didnt have 5 stamped on it. i believe i its suppose to be either 2 or 1 and the exhaust should be 3. Its been a while but u should look it up..good luck.

dont pay attention to the colors.. u have the jim wolf technology site correct?? look at page two. take the two cams that u believe are the exhaust ones and put sprockets on them. just hold them up and position the cam so the lobes match up with how the pictures are (dead top center) or how they should be when in the motor. and if they match up with the picture they're exhaust cams. an intake cam will not match up with the exhaust picture. ill go take a look in my garage for the numbers...

haha. i figured it out the left one is an exhaust cam. while the right one is an intake cam. those are a pair of s13 cams one intake and one exhaust. compare them with the picture on page two and ull see...problem solved thats why ur timing was off. 240/248 is better anyways i heard, but makes less power than 248/248.
