Time to get the car prepped for paint and aero. Need a recommendation for a shop in socal to do the work. Preferably a 240sx friendly shop. Heres what I need done:

-3rd brakelight gone-oem spoiler holes gone-antenna gone-quarter panel dents pulled-general dents pulled-black tape crap removed-possibly need a new set of fenders. mine are in pretty shaky condition.

oh yeah, and maybe a headlight and taillight conversion for good measure... I'm thinking celica heads and supra tails, yes? :rolleyes

US EARTH located in Torrance.

310-328-8888

Look for Jin, he's the boss there. The shop is 240 friendly since he's the guy who made Non Fujita's gunmetal wide body s14 with SR22 Tomei engine :cool

i'm not really worried about the fiberglass. I need my body repaired. my aero will be held on with zipties and double sided tape anyways, fitment is not high on my list of priorities, but I need to get it painted and I don't want a dented body to get a new spray job.

so do they do good bodywork or just good with fiberglass.

Well, I don't have my car back yet, but from the pics I saw, and a SWEET caddy they were working on, it looks to be good. They also use quality paint. 3 coats base, 3 coats clear...

Ok so, you JUST want body work done...wow...I am not sure what they are willing to do..I am sure they would JUST do body work. They are a body shop...Yea, call them...RG Custom...in Riverside...ask for Rob...Tell him the guy with the red 240 sent ya...John.

As far as price...1800 is a starting paint job there...but that includes all body work (nothing major of course...).

If you need a more economical shop...My buddies dad owns a small collision shop...You can get a pint job there for under 1g, even for 500 bucks. But again...the work is going to be 500 dollar work. Its called Choice Auto Body in Corona. give them a call, ask for Brian, tell him John sent ya...oh yea, they DO NOT do body kits...don't even ask.

i drift this car. paint gets destroyed, aero gets destroyed. because of these two facts, I am not willing to pay for 2000 dollar Hot Import Nights paint jobs. 300 dollar 1 day paint is perfect. because the paint will get wrecked anyways. but like i already said, i don't want to paint with a dented body.

yes. and not because they are the 'in' thing now because drifing is the current biggest 'fad.' during minor crashes.. you want expensive aero to just fall off so that it doesn't do any damage to the overall part. bumpers absorb little to no crash protection anyways, the only that can happen with a properly support bumper or side skirt is for it to become mangled. with zipties, they will just break, fall off and probably slide away and you can pick it up afterwards.

If it's just gonna get a home-brew paint job and is gonna get dented some more, why do you need a body shop? And why shave the antenna and spoiler if it's gonna be ghetto?

Dude, just tackle it yourself. Filling small holes is a cake job.

Otherwise, take the thing to Scheib and say, "Make it kinda smooth, here's $300."

Better yet, drive down to TJ and get it done by the natives.

p.s. I removed my own black tape. Maybe you can get Anand's buffness to pull it off for you. :)

Call him up Twinchy...get an estimate. That about all I can tell you. These do all kinds of collision work, so I imagine any dents you have, they can fix.

grrrr...

the paint is going to be cheap. not the body work. i really just need the holes fillled (welded, not bondo'd), and the big dents pulled, but if i'm going to do them, might as well do them do them all.

and my black tape... yeah, half of it....PAINT

Yea, you might want to bring the car by and have them take a look...so they can give the most accurate estimate. Remember, they do not deal with aftermarket body kits....so don't ask...You won't like the answer. But beyond that, yes tell them I sent ya.

Located on Grand Ave, in Corona...Exit the 91 at Main Street...depending on what direction you are coming from you make a left or a right...You want to then make a left turn on Grand, and then make your first LEFT. They will be in the right hand corner, in the cul-de-sac. Call them if you are confused.
