Hey Guys,

So my first project is to replace the valve cover gaskets on this car, the passenger side rear corner is leaking directly onto the exhaust pipe and it's a definite fire hazard if not replaced soon. My question is, what do I buy, the few sites I've seen that have the gaskets have varying parts and I'm not sure what I need. Here is the site I plan to buy from:

http://www.partstrain.com/store/index.p ... sket%20Set

I just think I need the passenger and driver side gasket set, however they have a kit that has both sides, and then what looks like grommets? I'm not sure what they are, is it worth getting that instead? And then there are these little half-moon and o-ring kits listed, it's a little confusing and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

And I just ran across this on eBay Motors:

These are OEM Infiniti whereas the first ones I listed are aftermarket, is there really any difference?

Thanks

On the website you list you need the first and third item. The kit with the rubber grommets which are the pieces that go on the outside of the cover and the bolts go through are really not necessary to replace; as long as you dont lose them or they crack. The half moons and orings are for 90-93 cars which many of these online retailers have these in there catalogs for the later cars for some reason; the earlier cars didnt have the full gasket.

If it were me I would just get them from infiniti just because I trust they will fit, thats not to say the other gaskets are not identical. There is really no big price difference but it is up to you.

OK thanks for the info, I'm going with the gaskets off of eBay then, they are from an Infiniti dealer and the seller has 100% positive feedback, can't beat it for $55 with shipping :)...

That eBay seller in your link appears to be a NICO sponsor as I see their logo and link on the right hand navigation panel below DeatschWerks.
