Hello and thanks for taking the time to read my post. Yesterday I changed the light bulb under the automatic transmission gear shift and now the car is stuck in park. Even when the brake is applied the car won't shift.

Ther car is a 1998 Nissan Sentra SE.

Not sure why this is I didn't unplug any electrical wires just changed the bulb.

Also my driversd side seat which is manual won't slide forward. Any and all ideas welcome. Thanks.

It's probably an issued with the neutral safety switch. It's a simple circuit that tells a relay near the shifter to unlock the gear selector when you press the brake pedal down.

Thanks for the advice. That's exactly what it was. There was a spring out of position which wasn't creating the needed tension. Once I fixed that I was good to go. Just finished putting everything back together.
