need answers on 97 ka obd2 to 95 240sx obd1 swap

ok heres the deal my engine is knocking bad and I want and need a new engine,I found a good deal on a 97 ka with 110k my problem is that my s14 is obd 1, so the question is what do I need to do to make the 97 ka work in my car with out too many modifications or should I just go ahead and buy a 95 ka they have in a yunker which is way more expensive?

please guys I need help asap!

if you use the 97, use the head and block, all the other sensors/wires/manifolds use from your 95.

bump. is the obd2 transmission usable or does it have extra/different sensors on it? All of the accessories are the same right? You only need to use the OBD1 manifolds because their is more emissions sensors on the OBD2 motors? would it be wise to swap to the cams from the OBD1 motor, or would that not make a difference? What was it about the OBD1 intake manifold that restricted the power compared to the OBD2 manifold, cuz I mean the obd1 motors have longer duration cams, but make the same power. Any information would be greatly appreciated. searching on this forum sucks when you actually need to find info.

Won't make much of a difference if any. the 97 transmission will still be usable. More sensors and different wiring with the odb2, hence my suggestion of using the manifolds from the 95 instead of the 97. They'd be gaskets you'd be replacing sooner or later anyway, might as well have them changed when you can 1. more easily access them and 2. to keep stuff simple when you're doing your switch over.

Alright great, thanks alot. I had a little bit of a panic attack when the 95 KA motor I was going to buy seemed like it fell through, and I was going to pick up a 96 engine.
