alright, now... his car has the stock 240sx cluster and it's reading 6500 rpm @ 95 mph in 5th gear.. is that cuz the cluster isn't swapped out? if it's reading that right now what should i tell him not go go past RPM wise?

send your tach off to LS auto 100 bucks saves a headache. 2700 should be around 65mph. Depending on your tire setup.. 95 mph would be around 3800 rpm in 5th... yeah I never wired up my speedo.
