I have a question. A bolt on my fork pivot or something like that broke. Thats what the shop is telling me. They ordered the part and are trying to put it back but they said they need to drop the transmission to put the bolt back in. Is this true?

Yes. Unfortunately they have to. if that is infact the problem, then they have to drop it. It is inside the bellhousing.

So they already dropped the transmission and fixed it, and you just wanted to see if they scammed you? What were the symptoms of the problem?

Yea just kinda checking to see if that was necessary. The clutch when i bought the car, the pedal felt like it wasnt connected at all. It would be pushed down and stay on the floor. Pull it up with your toe it would stay up. But if i pumped it, the fluid would go out the slave cylinder and not come back for 15 seconds or so. I looked under, some of it was leaking from under the transmission. So basically the car couldnt start either.

sounds like a symptom of a bad clutch slave cyl. esp if you see brake fluid under the slave. get a new one and change it out before they drop the trans. simple procedure. 2 bolts to take the slave off, and youll need a 10/12mm line wrench to get the line off, then put it all back on and bleed. if you havent taken the damper box out, this is a GREAT time to do so. it makes bleeding the clutch 100x harder.and a bad slave and or pivot ball wont make the car not start. as long as the clutch is pushed in and its in neutral the car will start.

a bolt on the shift fork pivot or somethin like that broke off, i have the bolt here with me. I dont think the car could start at all because the clutch wasnt working at all. It wasnt disengaging or engaging. However the seller included a new starter from a pignose coupe as part of the sale. The mechanic is also changing the slave cylinder.

here is a pic of the bolt:

nah its all good. They did the job today i got the car back, They did have to replace the slave cylinder, and they put it all back together b4 i could tell them take out that stupid damper box. Makes my clutch feel like nothing at all, and stupid me trying to break the car in did like a 5g clutch drop twice and burned it. It did need a new clutch anyways so im gonna buy 1 but do the work myself this time.
