I was going to start customizing my altima by painting the grill first. My question is, since I have the stock grill, would painting the middle and the top/bottom stainless steel lines turn out to have a different look because of the material? or would it still look the same?

I wanted a shiny black look, so I was wondering if I had to buy the "INSERT OVERLAY" before I painted it...

would look the same. paint the whole grille with the same paint, and don't forget a clearcoat. if you want to be safe, you can purchase some black primer paint and coat it with that first. I just bought a can of 10oz at strauss discount auto for $3 the other day.

These pics aren't the greatest at showing the grill, but it's gloss black. It doesn't clash with the lower grill at all...http://forums.altimas.org/zero...ieces

No, super black. Your grille looks great the way you did it.

I think it will look pretty decent.

Also if you had some more black-ed out themed items it would probably look even better

maybe some GTR style headlight and tail overlays, roof overlay, rear valence, etc. to complete the look
