need advive on engine problem please

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

whats up guys i have an 89 240sx se and i used to come to this site all the time and i remember seeing a lot of posts about engine bog problems. well about 2 weeks ago i started having bog problems of my own, so i put on new spark plugs and fuel filter and was told that should do but it didnt fix the problem and i just put about 3-4 thousand into the car and have a lot of car related events coming up in these next few weeks and i really need this fixed so any advice or ideas would be very appreciated thanks

Easy Take out the AIV valve... as long as your area does not have emission testing you will be fine without it... you can leave it in place and just unhook it or you can clean the lil bugger... use the search for AIV and you should find a whole thing on it... the AIV is on the driver side of the engine just behind the Airfilter box (it's hooked upto it with a hose)

When you pull it out open it up and check the reed inside. If it is all carboned up, that may have been your problem. If it is clean, there is probably something else wrong. Don't stop at plugs, fuel filter and AIV - check out the plug wires, o2 sensor, MAF, injectors, and the list goes on...

There is a sticky in the Nissan Online Mechanic forum that has a list of popular problems, check that out and maybe that can help you some more. Never hurts to seafoam the engine either.

ok thanks guys i am starting to think its the injectors because my car is starting to have starting problems and i have to pump the gas and everyone says it seems like the engine is flooding, so i dont know if that hints at it beeing asnother problem , or not but that seemed logical to me its running toi rich i am thinking does that sound right?
