I was planning of buying a turbo kit on my 1995 240sx which has the KA engine. but i am curious too of the rb25 turbo engine. I would like the rb26 but my budget will only allow me to buy the rb25. My question is if am going to buy a stock rb25det engine with transmission what other parts do i need? I know i have to buy the engine mounts conversion. what about the electrical conversion of the engine? what site can i get information on a rb installation on a S14? How much am i looking to spend total if i do the rb25 swap? I want the stock rb25 installed for now and i will upgrade later to the hp that i need. thanks

Turbo the KA. Its cheaper to build and fits perfect in the engine bay and parts are made to fit. RB gets expensive to put in and even more expensive when needing to build it and just about everything dealing with an upgraded turbo needs custom done to do it right.

I'd have to agree...lol.

Unless you have a decent amount of money, tools, space (garage or access to one), resources, I'd probably just do KA-T.

I love my RB, but if I had to do it over again, I'd probably just have done a built KA-T. My situation was different though: screwed over, so I had to pay a shop to do it ASAP, as I had no where to store the motor or car (had to have it towed straight from one shop to another).

Yeah, it's funny...I would have done a built KA-T, but now that I have the RB25, I don't see myself getting rid of it and starting a KA-T project. lol

Only advantage to having the RB25 is when kids ask whats in it, you can tell them its a skyline engine. haha. I do like my RB25 even though its a PITA. Its alot smoother to drive then my KA is.

The ka will always be laughed at when revving it up at stop lights. Actually all 4 cylinder engines do. I hated how my Ka and Sr sounded.

Everyone seems to love the sound of my SR. 270 Cams and a open dp dumping at the ground sounds really good. It lopes like a cam'd v8 in a way and when i rev it, i hit off a 2 step shooting some flames which people think is nuts.

go light your nissan on fire and buy a integra do ls-vtec!!! tune and RUN IT...... if you looking for cheapest and fastest

but if its got to be rwd then yea KA-T i laughed at it before but now look what their throwing down. who saw that one coming.......

Just price parts for a while IF you can even find them going RB20/25 what ever route. Then look into availability of SR parts!! Then ask yourself if you can afford to be down for weeks waiting for a RB part. Or if the extra like 2-3 dollars it would cost to go SR would be worth it. mmm.. yea rbs suck but saying ""yea i got a skyline motor"" almost makes it worth it.
