Hello,

I need some advice on coilovers. I see some coilovers over on ebay around $500. I used my car for daily driving and will autocross it on weekends. Are these coilovers good for what i am going to used for? Or these coilovers are no good and maybe i have to invest around $800 to $1000. If some of you out there had used these cheap coilovers can you share your experience with them.

thanks

My advice about Ebay coilovers is never... Doesnt mean u cant get good deals on name brand products, just research the coilovers first and then search ebay and see if it matches up. Ive been looking into the Megan Racing coilovers recently, compaired to cusco, tien and other brands, they seem to be a good buy and a very competitive suspension system. They are also $1500 cheeper than the cusco coilovers i was looking at, off the top of my head the price was around $1099 which really isnt bad, specially comming straight from megan racing.

Dont get hosed on cheepie coilovers, money can be tight, but dont risk youself or your ride.

your thing doesnt say if u have a S13 or S14, but here are 2 options from megan racing for the S13Track and street versions.

I wanted to answer this. But the search will help you out much more than what I got to say. It will be much better to save up for coilovers. But you would be just as good to replace your shocks.

I was going to replace my shocks, with Koni's get the GC sleeves, and some springs. And found out that for the setup Im looking for, I'll go for a decent set of coilovers for the same price.

The set Im looking to get are the KTS coilovers from SPL. This will happen either in the near future or the end of the year when I get a proper DD

You would do very good to read the suspension section here http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets.html

I run KTS coilovers and they do great on the track but they are a bit rough for the street. I do like how they are around $1000 and have built in camber plates with 16 different dampening settings. I do live where there is alot of rough streets so I guess it depends on how bad the streets are where you live.
