folks, im a university student and I'm looking for a 350z, and i will sell after 3 years from now because i will be moving to somewhere else. Now I l am in a dilemma of choosing between; older and higher mileage but cheaper 350z OR newer and lower mileage mileage for a bit more expensive under a 25000$ budget. The question is which one do you think it's the best type in terms of a economical point of view, i.e: resale value, repairs, maintenance.

Any comment and advice will be appreciated. Sorry if this is a noob question :ohno:

I will almost always say buy as new and as low mileage as you can afford. The two big things that this does for you is:

1) It gets you a vehicle with less wear and tear.
2) It can potentially get you a little of what's left on any factory warranty (or at least the 8 yr / 80K mile catalytic converter coverage)

Then there's the added benefit of any technical improvements that got added to a newer model.

Here's a couple of threads with some info for you:

'03-'04 Common Problems

New to Z's, need some advice

I'd stay away from anything older than an '05 unless all the typical problem areas have been taken care of, if you get either a '05 35th Anniversary or Track model or any '06 with a 6MT make sure oil consumption has been addressed. You'll spend more but if I were buying now I'd do some searching and find a good '07 or later.

Happy Hunting!

And welcome to NICO! :badger
