I've owned this car for about two and a half months....suv pulled out in front of me. i only have liability, and dont have money to fix it.

im considering parting it out if i get good enough offers and responses for parts but will sell as is ...just dont know which way to go

and i need to make the decision ASAP as i am in need of cash ASAP

the front bumper, hood, drivers side headlight, fender and drivers side suspension is all that recieved damage...the tire rubs REALLY bad so its not driveable. motor starts and runs fine. car is only not driveable due to the tire rub.

heres what the car looked like before the wreck:

HERE ARE THE PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE:

ouch! what a shame, that was a very clean n/a

I wouldn't try rebuilding that chassis, I might considder looking for another chassis to build, your car was an n/a automatic, so I'd look for a turbo 5 speed

sorry about the car man...It looked good.

Well...from my experiences...parting out cars take time, but you tend to get more cash that way, while selling whole gets it gone quicker but for less money.

Really all up to how bad you need cash.

Honestly I'd think about a rebuild as well...that car is CLEAN.

well if you need the money, you could try selling it whole, or part out, if you find someone who needs lots of mechanicals and interior you might get e decent price, otherwise it's likely worth more in parts than whole, the problem si the time and trouble to part it out, might not be worth the time trouble and effort, considdering the large ticket items would be difficult and costly to ship

Hi, I was looking at the Classic Z forum since I'm getting ready to buy a nice '73 240Z and I wanted to share my experience.

When my friend was rear-ended last summer in her Jeep, the other insurance company picked up the repair cost and covered the rental car while the Jeep was in the body shop. If the other insurance has accepted responsibility, they should cover the cost of your repair. Maybe it's different outside California I don't know for sure.

btw, we don't have collision on her Wrangler because it was too expensive. It was covered anyway. We would've been out of luck had she hit someone (ie if it was her fault).

It's worth a shot calling your insurance and asking if the other company will cover it if they've accepted responsibility. Good luck! Accidents suck.
