The front tires on my maxima are worn unevenly due to a bad sway bar bushings and links . The car still has the original tires with 61k miles on it. the front passenger side is completly useless now because i had a flat tire and the rim cut the tire on the side creating a leak of air and is useless now i replaced it with a donut tire that came with the car but i don't want to wait much longer to change because it makes my car look ugly .

I checked tire rack and similar sites and the prices are outragous they range from 193. dollars to like 169 each plus shipping and need to buy 4 of them and still fix my front end . I would greatly appreaciate if someone can tell me where i can buy cheap high proformance tires for a 2005 nissan maxima se

Try somewhere local to you, or try discount tire direct. Cheap and tires dont belong in the same sentence, especially in 17"+ sizes...

Ya we need to know what size tires you have. $170 each isnt that bad. At least you dont have a BMW with run flats. $300+ each. You get what you pay for. Tirerack has contis for my 17" touring tires for about $130 each which is fantastic.

What kind of tires are you looking for? All-seasons? Something for summer only? One of my favorite all-season tires is the Toyo Proxes4.

6th gen SE stock size is 245-45-18. Unfortunately it's a pricey size...not much getting around it. Simple reality is you are not going to find a tire worth buying in that size for less than $180 apiece unless you find some on sale somewhere, buy used, or buy some chinese ultra-budget tires that will ruin the way the car handles.

As to the second comment...nothing NEEDS high performance tires. But the right or wrong tires can completely transform a car's driving dynamics. So you can buy good tires and enjoy every drive, or you can buy the cheapest ones available and regret it every time you get in the car. Pretty easy decision in my book.

the cheapest Ive found is in the low 140 range. But you get what you pay for, cheap chinese made tires are poor quality.
