Hey guys,

I picked up this 240SX 1991 hatch for 600 $.

My Girlfriend said she will buy me springs for my car.

I noticed that alot of people speak about Eibach springs.

Now my question is what Eibach springs with 17 inch rims ?

Sport Line or Pro Kit ? I would like a nice low ride and little space between the wheel well and tire.

240sx guys/girls give me some opinions

youll need new shocks to pair up with those springs bro, otherwise you'll have a crap-*** ride...but i'd say pro-kit is better for you

Hey,

The Prokit is the one that lowers the car more right ?

Also what shocks do you think I should get with the springs ?

600? Nice catch! Pro-kit seems to be popular. Koni Yellows are fabulous.

frist decide how your gonna use the car.. drag race, autocross, or just cruisin.. cuz you'll prolly need a different suspension setup for each. then get the stuff you need...

Well its not going to be anything overly special. I just want to boot it around. Some light to light. Possibly some drag strip runs.

On the rarest of occasions some track.

Mainly a nice handling/looking car to boot around with the odd race here or there.

Sportlines go lower than Prokit... ProKit rides and hadles better

Get some decent shocks at the same time KYB AGX is a nice choice

PowerGarage sold me proline and KYB AGX $640 shipped for both

I have Tokico HP shocks and the ProKit springs work great for me. Handling significantly improved.

In what aspect does the pro kit ride and handle better. I was thinking about going with the KYB AGX shocks with the Sportline. I would like to have a low ride but nothing rock solid stiff.

ProKit rides better for daily drivers, as the spring rate isnt as high as Sportline springs. ProKits are more forgiving to bumps.

ProKits hardly lower the car at all; at max, 1". If this bothers you, get Sportlines. I've never had sportlines, but I've never heard of any complaints about them other than they dont lower enough (Sportlines lower roughly twice as much as ProKit).

In any case, you should get aftermarket shocks accomodate for the different springs. If you must use your stock shocks with Eibach springs, I highly recommend you use ProKit springs, as the spring rate is closer to stock. But if you know whats good for your car, you will get aftermarket shocks, such as Koni, Tokico, or KYB.

Guys I would like my car to be Nice and LOW ... as long as the ride does not actually hurt or uncomfort my girl it will be ok. I can drive a super stiff car no problem . My girl on the other hand just loves being in the car with me when i get into the go-fast kinda moods.

Zulu -- think about marrying the girl... I married my girlfreind 17 years ago and she still like getting sideways in the Benz when the kids aren't in the car--- unless you are like 17 or somthing...then just keep hanging with her... But definetley put "like to drive fast" on your list of requirments in a wife... never get ragged on for driving too fast...

I happen to tell her I posted this thread and told her about it and shes like there's girls that dont find it sexxi when there man drives on the edge. She loves watching me shift. Not to brag but by far I shift faster then anyone I have ever met.

She just gets very excited at lights , shes like race him race him , hehe i love her to death.

The most popular setup here seems to be the Pro-Kit and AGX dampers. This gives you the best bang for the buck and also allows you more options to firm things up for more aggressive handling. You can also firm up the valving as they wear to maintain the same ride and handling as they age. You can't do that with a non-adjustable damper.

I would say about 1.5 is a more realistic number for the Pro-Kit

So thats the ring she is going to get. The look on her face when she saw that ring was priceless I knew I had to get her that ring. Even though its 8000$ :( but i love her to death
