Need advice! Planning to put pinstripe tape on my rims

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi i just bought a set of 20" rims. the image is below. my only problem is that since i bought them used it has some surface scratches on the edge of the lip. this is easily be covered by 1/4 of an inch of tape. this is why i want to use vinyl pinstripe tape on them.now has anyone used them before? please share your experience. i need to know if they work well because these tape are actually for the body of the car im not sure if they will stick well on the rims.next i need you guys to help me choose a colour. i have a dark current ex35 if that helps.

note: these rims are not chrome lip they are just polished.

Why not have the scratches buffed out? Cost more but would look way better IMHO.

wrong type of rim to be using this for.

just have it buffed out, or resell the rims....to be honest those 20"s dont even look that great on the EX

well... thanks for your positive feedback i wouldnt want to sell them because i just bought them yesterday. i am on a budget for rims so thats why i bought these. they already came with scratches on them. i just need a qucika dn cheap way to cover them up. i had no idea you could buff them. any ideas where and how much that would cost?

depends on who does it, and their reputation really. i mean it can run from really cheap to really freaking expensive.

how good of a deal did you get on them? cuz honestly, i would resell, and see if you can grab a decent profit. These rims are heavy, if anything you're really detracting from some of the perks of this CUV. that is my main gripe about it really.

but with regards to buffing it out, you'll have to ask around your town

i agree with you, they are really heavy and it doesn't look that great for the EX. but the price was a killer, i pan on driving them a while until i get bored of them. then ill resell. either way they look way better than stock. and i think ill repaint it some colour. havent decided the colour yet

this is ghetto, unless you have an amazingly steady hand. or unless you have the paint sprayer to evenly coat it....but you still have to prep it, so unless you have experience, don't go the ghetto route
