Hmmm ... looks like you have a AWD model? (Question title says so, but your description below the avatar does not, so I am not sure.)

If you do have the AWD model, please do not change the springs and suspension components without understanding exactly what effect it will have on the ATTESSA system.

I have not looked at this issue per se (but do know that some changes - like wheel diameter differences - can hurt the system), so just providing you something to look at and think through.

This is just an opinion but if you have an X don't change the suspension. I mean if you're willing to sacrifice performance and potentially mess with the altessa system purely for looks that's up to you but me, I forget all about that fender gap when I'm driving my x and feel how good the ride and the handling is.

I have a 45x I lowered it with the Espilir x specific springs. It's fine, no probs with the awd system. A nissan tech did it whos trained to work on the GT-R (which also uses the ATTESSA). and he said no problem. Even did a computerized alignment after wards My drop was only 1.25 but it looks like more, the rear are almost on the fenders and the front gap is minimized also, whatever you use I'd make sure it maintains the cars natural front-rear height ratio. Although in my opinion that has less to do with the ATTESSA then the cars natural handling balance.

Question for you...I recently bought a '06 M35X. I found a spot to buy the Espelir springs, but after reading all the posts, I'm kind of skeptical about buying it now. The guy who did your car (GT-R trained); does he work on other cars on the side, or was this a friend of yours and willing to only work on yours? Only reason I'm asking is b/c I'd defintely give him the business (and money) if he could properly fit these springs on my car without messing anything up. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks alot.

I would like to see some photos of the finished product. Just remember that the look may be fine, the drive/performance will suffer.

The guy is a mechanic at a Nissan dealership my friend works at. I paid him cash on the side. As far as performance and ride quality, of course ride quality suffers relative to stock. That's any lowered car. Mine still rides well (better then my stock g35 coupe did with 18s). My car is on 20s and the handling is awesome now. Pics are on a thread somewhere recently titled pics of my car after lowering/spoiler. I'll put the pics in this thread later when I get a chance.

Mikey45X, i got the Espelir Springs installed on my m35x. However, my front passenger side strut is leaking real bad. Did you notice any leaks of any kind on your struts/shocks?

The shop that installed mine is trying to claim that the spring blew my strut but I b****ed at them and told them that it wasn't like a 3 inch drop that would blow my strut immediately. Anyway, they will take a look at it and we will go from there.

I just wanted to check with you since the M45x is heavier and the springs are working well on yours then I know it's not the springs.

Hmm, honestly, they've only been on for a few weeks and the car only has like 9K miles on it. I haven't seen anything like that yet, but who knows. I will keep and eye out for it. How did you notice the leak? Did it start to ride/handle with an obvious difference first? Struts being overworked with lowering springs may be a common issue, nothing to do with awd, so it might be a question to ask all the M owners.

Hey Mikey,

When the strut on the M35/45 leaks, it leaks real bad. First you will see a huge puddle. Then slowly it will turn into smaller drops. It is very noticeable. You can even turn your wheels to one side and reach in and feel around the strut and see if its leaking. I think you should be fine since you got it done by Nissan...lucky you.

The shop screwed up in putting the spring on on the strut, i think they used too much force or something or maybe compressed the spring too much. All the other shocks are fine. They said they will replace it for me. I gotta go in tomorrow and get it changed out. I'll let you know how it goes.

By the way these springs ride really nice. It not much of a difference as compared to the stock springs in terms of ride quality. I will post pics once this whole ordeal is over with this leaky strut.

PS: To the guy who started this thread, i didn't mean to hijack the thread..sorry

yeah I agree with you about the ride, and so far mine aren't leaking, but I will keep an eye out for it.
