I may have found a buyer for my 04 Spec V wheels I had on my s13. Well I'd like to know the best way to ship/package them etc. Ive never shipped a rim/tire before. The tires are mounted on the rims and all 4 will be shipped (sorry, just wanted to make sure every knew). Please help me out.

Go to a tire store.

Ask for some big ol' BLANG BLANG 24" rim boxes (they may fit).

If not, box them up with UHaul boxes, and ship via FORWARD AIR (http://www.forwardair.com).

You won't find cheaper shipping for bulky stuff.

hmm, how much do you think the shipping would be if I just went UPS. They are local in my area and easy to take them to.

if I was going to ship them, I would find a box big enough to have lke 2 inches of free space from all sides of the wheel to edge of the box. maybe more for top/bottom. I would put the wheel in a plastic bag. put in few inches of peanuts in the bottom of the box, put wheel in, and fill rest with peanuts. and be sure it's packed tight. what I do is I fold the top of the box closed, and shake it. if I can still hear stuff bouncing around, a few more handfulls of peanuts.

but then again, my boxes just have stepper motors and circut boards in them, that doesn't weigh too much.

Better to go to home Depot and buy a sheet of rigid foam insulation and cut it to fit around the rims....

well if its just rims packaging would be good. if its rims with tires just cut carboard circles to cover the sides tape it on tight and ship it UPS as irregular save time & $$$ its a little cheaper if you take em straight to the UPS hub as well.
