After having my S14 SR for about a year now, the boost bug has bit me, and I'm now looking for more. My turbo has little to no shaft play, and it does not smoke. I would like to keep the stock turbo, but safely upgrade the fuel system.

Car made 212 WHP on a Dyno Dynamics chassis dyno with an airfilter, full 3" turbo-back exhaust, Walbro fuel pump and the stock SMIC.

Car has a Greddy FMIC now.

Setup:- stock S14 T28 turbo- EBC set at 14-16 PSI- Z32 MAF- 740 CC injectors- ROM tune (Enthalpy)

I figure I could get used injectors, and have them cleaned and flow matched, which would save a ton of money.

I used an injector calculator and 740's were recommended.

I can't afford a standalone, and also don't plan on any huge modifications, so I see this as a good fit for my power goals, without needing a metal HG or head-studs.

Any suggestions? Anyone with a similar setup?

With the amount of money you are going to spend to get the injectors cleaned and flow matched, you might as well buy new... To be honest, you don't need 740cc's either, you'll be just fine with 550cc's. Don't run DW injectors, spend the money and run Nismo/Tomei/Sard, they aren't redrilled injectors like DW...

When I swapped mine in, I used a new factory HG and ARP's. I'm boosting around 13psi without it tuned and haven't had any problem yet. The Stock T28 is out of it's efficiency range after about 16-17psi, so I wouldn't go over that..

What type of boost sontroller do you have?

Also, do you have a wideband installed?

If I were to find good priced 740's, I din't see why I shouldn't go with them since it gives me more room for the future.

I run the Greddy Profec B spec 2. It's a bit of a pain to get right, but it holds solid at 13.5psi... I also have an HKS wastegate actuator, so that helps with spike a bit.

I do not have a wideband installed, but will coming up in the future, as I'm in the middle of an engine build... Most widebands have a narrowband output for you to hook up to your ECU signal wire and be able to use the wideband in the factory location. You'll need to get a heatsink for it though, because it's closer than 18inches to the turbo.

I'm sure you could possibly find some good priced 740cc's... And that's fine, it'll give you room to grow, but I prefer to buy new or very slightly used (under 1k miles).
