i have a 1996 nissan 240sx se Ive already installed:AEM short ram intakehotshot headersRSR Exhaust

I like the unlocked hp that i have gained but want to gain more hp with the naturally aspirated KA24de i was thinking JWT camshafts, JWT ECU, a mustang cobra MAF, and some new cam gears if i can find them for my model.

Id be thankful for any help that you can give me

There some people on here who don't think much of JWT products, specifically about whether its worth the money (they are pretty expensive). I seem to remember JWT having modified cam gears that do allow you some tuning options, but know of nobody who has tried them. I don't think the Cobra MAF will do much for you at this point in the game.If I were to make a recommendation at this point, I'd say get a lightened flywheel and if you are going to take the head apart, some people reccommend taking out the secondary butterflies in the intake.I wish I could give more first hand experience with the cams/ecu, but I don't have any.

I agree, that Cobra MAF isnt going to do anything at these power levels

JWT ECU and Cams should be good for a proven 10hp to the wheels. It was discredited for a while, but now its proven that just he cams alone are good for that 10 to the wheels, so adding an ECU will always help. However, i'm not certain if those power levels were made using Cams, Cams+Gears, Cams+ECU, or a combo of the three. But jesus, all three are going to cost you about a G for probably 15hp to the wheels, maybe a few more...

i think instead of the ECU i would get an SAFCII. THis is only regarding using the cam gears however. If the ECU is tuned by JWT for the cams, your header and intake, and then a specific cam gear combo, then thats ideal. However, to find any power with the cam gears you are going to need to spend some dyno time, so i think it would be beneficial to do some SAFC tuning then as well, when you find the cam setup you want

or since you have a 96 i would look into a 248/232 cam gear swap. you only need to source one s13 exhaust cam, so it would be really really cheap to just try out, as opposed ot the G you just dropped at JWT. Search that and see if you're interested. It should be a good gain over your 232/232's but not as much as the JWT 256/256 (actual duration). BUt 248/232 gives a good amount of top end, but at the same time a huge amount of midrange power

cam gears are something ive wanted to talk about for a while now:

JWT cam gears are just regular-*** cam gears with holes in them. I dont know if they are lighter, but its not that big of a difference in this area anyways. Anywho, you can easily go to JWT and download the instructions for installing the cam gears. It shows you exactly where you need to place holes in your stock cam gears, and then where you need to place everything to set up your cams.

Literally it looks as simple as bringing a set to the machine shop, telling them to drill an X sized hole every X degrees. then you mark whats what looking at the JWT picture, and use those instructions.

what is the problem with doing this? I know the 248 exhaust cam could benefit from something like these homemade cam gears, i just wanna hear some objections before i considered having a spare set drilled at my local shop
