I have a 95 s14 and im about to put on headers intake and exhaust and I am wondering what the best type of parts would be for horsepower gains. Also I was curious if there was a cold air intake on the market for the 95-96 240 other than the Injen cold air extension. I've heard good things about Hotshot headers and I was thinking about Apex-i N1 duals...any thoughts thanks

you made good choices with those parts. i have them jsut iwth different exhuast but i will be switching to the n1. i have the full bomex kit u can check out the site in my sig. the eye mask woould be fine to get but i dont suggest gettin a whole kit if u paln on it too much money with no performance value. loks great but ehn u have to always be careful

I love the look of the N1 Dual, but remember it was designed for a turbo.

the install is pretty easy. the header took a couple hours. the pain in the *** was the rusted bolts to the dummy cat just use pb blaster on those and the egr fitting and let it soak in then u wont have a problem.

i had the entire kit done professionally but looking at it now could have done it myself. but just the eye mask is a snap. its 4 clamps that hold it to the hood jsut have to get it painted then 5 mintues later ur good to go

the only header you should get for the 240 is hotshot. they are by far the best header you can get. as far as intakes, injen is very good, i personally have a hotshot intake and i like it a lot. there are a lot of different options you could go with for exhausts.

i want to get a cold air intake though and i think the hotshot is only the ram air...Injen is the only CAI ive found

yea i think injen is the only company that makes the extension that goes down to the lower bumper.

How much power does the average cat-back add to the stock engine?

Headers-go hotshot. They're a pain in the *** to install, good luck getting the EGR tube loose, mine was a 95 and I was about 2 seconds away from hacking it off when it finally budged (after a fulll can of PB blaster, a propane torch, and a plumbing wrench w/torque extension.)Exhaust--I don't suggest N1 duals unless you're going turbo. The large diameter tubing may sound bad-a$$, but you'll loose exhaust gas-velocity with the large piping--you don't need that big of exhaust piping for a NA 2.4 liter four cylinder, unless you're going to go turbo in the future. Plus, you'll loose torque with the bigger pipes. I suggest the same exhaust system I have on mine, that I'm EXTREMELY pleased with. It's a Tanabe Super Medallion hyper-spec exhaust, 60mm, stainless steel T-304 piping the whole way back (top quality stainless steel, about 2.25" exhaust piping.) The exhaust system is excellently constructed, fits perfect, sounds awesome, gave me decent power gains, and is quite from idle to around 3k, it really picks up after that, especially if you have headers and a CAI.Intake-Don't go with anything unless its CAI, it just doesn't make sense to have a short ram air intake sucking in wicked hot air. Make your own if you want to, I made mine out of 3" mandrel bent piping that I got from JCWhitney--gave me a good amount of power, is completely custom, and looks awesome.-Marc

What! Mine were so easy to put on. i had no problems at all, everything came off easy and everything lined up perfectly.

I'm thinking about getting a hot shot , but i've heard that they suck as far as installation goes. I've also heard that they fixed the problems after 2001 and the new ones are perfect... i'm not sure what to think
