Hi!

I recently bought a g35x 2007 with HID (of course!!). What a car! I was so used with my old Camrys...

The only thing in that car that I am not sure of is... the HID bulbs... When I had my Camry, I used to buy PIAA headlights H11, non HID. These lights were the closer I could go before having to jump in the HID area.

Now, with my G35, I found that the low beam are not much more brighter than what I had in my Camry. Is it me or are there better bulbs in the market for the G35?

Do you know what type of bulbs it is in G35? I am new to HID, I heard it might be D2S?

Any recommendation for brighter lights?

Regards,

Daniel

D2S

The bulbs that are supposed to be really nice are the Philips ultron (something like that) 6000k

$190 - 200 for the pair.

Thanks!

Are these much brighter? I drive often in the woods (lots of woods in Canada!) so I need very bright lights!!!

I have heard that 6000K is not as bright as 4300K?

Because some of the bulbs have tint and a foil on the bottum causing it to lose its light.

So, if I buy the 6000K you refered me to, will I get much brighter lights than the one I have presently on my G35?

4300K produces 3200 lumens where the 6000k will produce 2800 lumen.

so yes 6000k is not as bright.

and it will keep on losing output the higher you go in the kelvin range.

Yea, but its still brighter than Halogen

I chose 8000K , because it wont blind people down the road ,and i really dont need brightness just the cool blue look

If you want bright .. go with the 5000K they sell .

As curiosity, do you know what Infiniti puts as original bulbs in G35? Is it Philips 4300K? Is it 35W or 55W?

I want to make sure that I buy *will be* brighter than the original ones in my G35!

I saw elsewhere that Philips is one of the brightest HID, if I move with Volcano, will I get much better results, i.e. brighter? What about PIAA 6600K? They are quite expensive though...

well the g35 does not have a very good projector so its something you have to deal with. 4300k is the brightest you can get and if you go up in the kelvin range you start to lose lumens. the only way to actually upgrade your lighting is use a different HID projector and do a retrofit.

i wouldnt know about brightness, i bought mine because i liked the BLUE .. buddy is offering me his 5000K whites.. and i might actually try them out ... and they are brand new.

Im not much of the brightest i can get, because i love the blue and purple hues , not really into much of the super bright white
