need advice on engine rebuilding

one of my buddies just swap out his old sr20 motor in his sentra with a new one, he gave me his old one because he spun a bearing in the block. what should i do first in rebuilding the engine, i know i have to take it apart and inspected for other damage but f its there no major damage what should i do first, o and i wanna make it rwd sr20 for my s13 plz help im just starting out for this kind of stuff.

sell it to a sentra owner...and buy a rwd SR

^^^ What he said....and if you do that and STILL want to rebuild the RWD SR motor there's alot to consider, sorta.

Assuming the walls arn't in bad shape (You have to check with a bore gauge!) Than you could just go ahead and hone the walls and not have to get oversized pistons.

You'll also have to check the bearing clearances and what not.

You should really do the research though.....there's PLENTY of info on this.

Its not hard, just takes time, patience, money, and the proper tools.

well im assuming that it would be cheaper if i just get the complete set with engine and trans and all accessories but how hard is to convert a fwd sr20 motor to a rwd sr20
