I have swapped a 92 KA24DE (had an auto trans) into my 90 that ofcourse HAD a KA24E. I converted the KA24DE to the manual trans that was already in the 90, by swapping flywheels. I also swapped the ECU and harness from the 92 into the 90 to match the engine. My problem is, I can't find the connector plug for the neutral safety switch. I have the wire coming from the trans, but can't find where to plug it in. I can't even find it on the OLD Harness!! Poof, disappeared!! lol.I wonder if it would work anyway as the ECU is for an auto trans.I would like to just bypass it. I know this will result in starting in gear, but I will be the only one driving.....I know the neutral switch pin location on the ECU is #34, but what do I do to fool the ECU into "thinking" it's ok to allow the starter to engage? Is ther another way? Remember, the wire from the manual trans is not/cannot be connected..... Do I merely run a jumper from #34 to chassis ground? What?....PLEASE HELP????? It's driving me NUTTS!!! :-0

up in the engine bay you'll see a thick wire that can get jumpered if you've done any homework at all on the 5 speed swap. Search for the wire colors. One of them is black and red.

Thanks. I got some advice yesterday and found a way.By the fuse box on my Manual, the switch is by the clutch pedal. I had my Son cut and connect the black and white wires and now it turns over. Thanks for the reply!! :-)

For safety sake, use some sort of safety device. Try using the brake pedal so the car only starts with the pedal pressed or even easier, with the emergency brake lever pulled.

You can save someone knee and feet.
