Hi All,

Ok, I just replaced my new clutch with an EXEDY OEM replacement, plus an 11lb lightweight flywheel from F1 Racing. I need to know if the following is normal for the breaking in period for a new clutch: The shifter gets very stiff and starts to vibrate (no violent vibrations, just pulsing vibrations) after 2500RPMs. The thing is, the shifter gets stiff but once i press the clutch to change gears it is fine, however, it seems to grind in most or all gears too! Any ideas on what this can be?

Did you replace the clutch slave and bleed its line?

The vibration sounds like the tolerance is too tight on the pilot bearing and you are actually getting engine vibrations. If this is the case it will wear down soon. Probably not a big deal.

As far as the grinding, bleed the slave line. You may not be getting enough stroke out of the slave cylinder piston. You may need to start looking for another slave that has a longer piston.
