Okay as you all know (well if you browse through the fs threads) I've been trying to sale or trade my hatch for a coupe with no results (obviously). I recently came across a junkyard gem and the owner is willing to let it go for 800 bucks..this is just a shell with no front end (because he said the silvia front end costs 1150....:chuckle: yea....)

Now comes the dilemma: do I buy this shell and swap everything over that'll fit from my hatch, or should I just put money into my hatch and find a trade that's worth it? Which would be more cost effective in the long run?

Have any of you bought cars from the junkyard and hooked them up or at least made them drivable?

Yea..that definately could be option three..I dunno, I guess IMO the coupe is easier to make it look sexy...I mean all u need is what, rims, kit, lower

The hatch is the same thing but then you gotta buy 400 dollar taillights to make it just right. In my mind if I had a coupe, that 400 bucks would go to somethin useful like a koyo radiator, fmic kit, or a turbo O_O maybe I'm just thinking too much

GHAH! this new nico system sucks on my phone, I don't get notices that someone replied in my posts anymore :frown:

Anyway, I'm kinda hesitant on buying a shell just to find s*** wrong with it down the road. As far as front end, I'm gonna keep it factory...IMO I think it looks the cleanest plus if you smash it, it won't cost 500+ to fix it (like I know I am) I just seen a flat black coupe and the only thing it has/had was a welded diff, lowered and had exhaust. The s*** looks rediculously hard!

@gigabit: I dunno why he did that...I guess me being black with braids says that I shouldn't know s*** about 240's :chuckle: its okay tho, I schooled his a** though. Supposedly he has a s14 with an RB in it for 6500 (all f*** up even without me looking through it) but he said I couldn't look at it, I just had to buy it lmao! I asked him what kind of RB and he started going off so I told him hey man there's more than one f*** RB engine out there: is it a rb20, 25, 26? How bout a rb22 or a rb30? I could sell you my hatch and tell you it has a 454 under the hood BUT you can't look til after I get the cash..sounds dumb huh?

You mean no one mentioned getting the Coupe AND keeping the Hatch? That's what I'd do, but I have an addiction.

@biggie l'd love to do that but I live in an apt complex so I only have 2 spots: one in the garage for my hatch and a parking spot for my wifes car

@dre its a gem to me because: 1 it isn't all modded or riced out, there isn't any rust and the frame is straight as far as I can tell and it hasn't been in an accident. Imo if this coupe had been on the street, it could easily sell for 1200 (it is an automatic)

As far as how it runs I really don't care because I was gonna swap motors but the way prices are for a single cam I could just buy the car and put a motor in for less than 1500

On a off topic note, is there a post notification on here anymore?
