if i can get the exact part numbers for the standard size bearings. I can contact my acl bearings distributor here...I have access to 2 of them. However they need to have the part numbers since they don't usually deal nissan so therefore not familiar with the rb series.

I tried looking on their website at the catalog. They only thing I can figure out is that the rb25 and rb26 shared the same part number for the main bearings. As for the conrod part number, I can't find it ...There is a number but I am not sure if that is the part number (f780)

Here is what I have found out so far by doing some research for the RB25 and 26.

For the ACL main bearings you are going to have to use the RB30E main bearings. The ACL catalgue has the RB25DET mains listed, but they screwed up on it, they only have the RB30E's, which work for both the RB25 and RB26.

For the Conrod (a.k.a. Rod bearings) all the RB25, RB26, and SR bearing are all identical. They actually sell a set of 6 of them now so you do not have to buy two sets any more.

I called ACL direct and they gave me a ruff estimate, since they do not sell these direct unless you have an account with them. He said it will be about $135 ($100 for mains and $35 for conrods)

Sorry for not updating. But here are the info. I found so far. And yes, you are correct about the interchangeable.

Here are the parts number (main bearings)1. 7m2394 (they have in standard or oversizes)2. 7m2394H (race series)3. 7m2394HX (race with .001 extra oil clearance)

Rod bearings are 6b2960 (or you can buy 2 sets of 4b2960 and split it up ).

how do the ACL bearings work in terms of sizing? only 2 sizes (regular and oversize)?. Does that mean you have to grind the crank down to fit the bearing regardless of the OEM sizing? In that case I guess you would buy the bearings and make the crank fit. (which might cost more)

OEM sizing gives you 7 different sizes for mains, and 3 sizes for con rods. If going OEM bearings, it is the other way around- you buy the bearings to fit the crank. (i think this method is cheaper because you dont need to cut the crank to spec. just measure it and most likely an oem bearing will fit.) other than that, all you need to do is micropolish and balance...

just something to think about before jumping on ACLs. I know Power Enterprise makes bearings too (all OEM sizes aavailable..)

i know they make bearings for the rb, i can't justify $50-$60 each piece. even with polishing the crank to fit the ACL bearings, it end to be extremely less. and , nissan bearings suck balls....

The main bearings (they had only 5 in stock for the race series) parts number shows up on their computer but at local dealer they will not show up. I went through couple of phone tags and finally I got fed up and called back to Chris and explain the situation. He then asked his supervisor to ok and will C.O.D. them to me without an account. I ordered 2 sets of main and 3 sets of rod because me and a friend are building 2 engines.

Tell him Trinh sent you. Explain to him the situation that you are building an engine that is not normally exported to the U.S. and that no ACL dealers will stock them. Be nice and he will try to work with you.

You have to take in consideration of 50K plus miles of wearing on the crank itself. Not to mention rebalancing and micropolishing the crankand, line honing the main tunnel. But to properly blueprint the bottom end, you will have to measure the inside journals of both the main caps and rods, the crank and subtract those numbers. The differences in the readings in references to the ACL bearings tolerances will give you the proper sizes. Even then, I still plastiguage every engine I have built.

For the past 10 engines from Honda that I have built plus many others that I have helped building (most of these engines are 500whp plus) The standard falls within specs. Honda uses the same number system like nissan.

I really am not advocating ACL as the superiority bearings over OEM or other japanese bearings but mainly just that I have been using them for 3 yrs now and would like to continue using them.

Skyline australia and skyline downunder users use ACL a lot but of course thats because they are an australian company.
