Greetings -

I'm helping a friend find an ABS/DC/VDC pump-actuator for his '04 Maxima SE - Automatic (4sp).

Are there any parts outlets that are alternatives to Nissan (that wants $1200-$1400)?

We have tried eBay and the national salvage-yard database. Only to come up with the two wrong parts sent and bad attitudes and disapointment.

Any help would be great! Thank You!

How did you know you have to replace the pump-actuator? It seems too early for that component to fail. Most of the problems with ABS/VDC are associated with relays and wheel sensors. But of course, pump-actuator failure is a possibility.

And yes, finding a 6th Gen Maxima in a junkyard would be difficult.

The ABS light is on and it is the diagnostics code that keeps being displayed indicates the pump actuator.

This car has had extensive troubleshooting done on it.

The problem is the cost of the fix. $1200-$1400 for this one module is quite outrageous.

There are a few at yards. Fast car + bad driver = wrecked Maxi.

Not that it makes a difference to your diagnosis or parts search, but that's not possible. SE was 5at or 6mt. Only SL got the 4 speed. :)
