Hey, a friend of mine picked up this turbo from a local shop.

They didn't know what it is so I'm just seeing if any of the experts on this board can help out.

It seems to be some sort of Precision T3/T4, .60/.63

Any ideas?

I'll wager that it's a Precision T3/T4, .60 / .63 ...

Hehe... :P

Looks to be a Stage V turbine wheel...in a .63 A/R housing,m it 'looks' significantly larger than my Stage III wheel.

To determine anything else useful, you need to remove the compressor housing and measure the compressor wheel...we need minor and major diameter.

Then you can determine the compressor trim, which is really the important spec to know.

Haha.

As far as taking it apart... I would but I've never taken a compressor housing off, and wouldn't want to mess anything up, seeing as it isn't even mine.

So you seem to think that it sits higher in the spectrum of Precision t3/t4's? Something more along the lines of a sc61?

Thanks for the help

Oh, and i don't/never have had a corrado

on the backside of the compressor housing there are gold brackets with i think 13mm bolts holding the on. if you loosen them all you will be able to rotate the compressor housing. if you take them out the compressor housing will come off. you wont harm anything internally cause well they are all internal. you will be fine taking the compressor housing off. there may be a small rubber gasket ring in there, dont lose it

AAhhhhhh...don't be scared...what's the worse that could happen? You chip the compressor blades and render the turbo useless? Or you destroy the compressor housing seal and it doesn't ever boost properly? C'mon, no big deal, eh? It's not your turbo!

Hehehehe...

Allright, enough kidding around on this on. :P

...

There is really no worry taking the housing off...remove the 6-8 bolts on the rear of the compressor, and twist-n-pull the housing off the center section, carefully. Quite easy.

Looks like ~2.25" minor and ~3" major diameter.

From here: http://64.225.76.178/catalog/comp_wheels.html you can see the common T04E trims (50, 57, 60) all have a 2.95" major diameter...

So you need to more accurately measure the minor (small end).

50 = 2.17"

57 = 2.23"

60 = 2.29"

A micrometer would be handy for this...and pray for 2.17"...50-trim would be best.

upon closer inspection it looks to be 2 3.6/16, so 2.23"

so then it's a precison sc34?

thanks for the help btw

ps. it isn't for me

Damn Brian's good!

Seems like a SC34 to me, with a stg 5 wheel (instead of the stg 2 or 3 listed on that page) if Brian is correct just by eyeballing it.
