Need a stop light sensor for 90 Q, anybody?

If you have the stop light inoperative message, you need to replace the bulbs first then if it doesnt fix it, replace the socket...

Replacing just bulbs fixed it.. Used OEM nissan bulbs, about $1 for both

it was diagnosed by a mechanic to be that. Its for my partners car, mine is a 94. we swapped the one in my car into his and his stop lights worked, so, I guess that's it. Plus the bulbs were fine.

Are they OEM nissan bulbs...

My bulbs worked PERFECTLY but they were sylvania (=autozone) and it threw the message...

Where is this thing you speak of, ill get it from my and sell it.....

It is on the back of the trunk face. Remove the liftover trim, the long plastic part running the width of the trunk between the tail lights. Gently move the carpetted panel away from the sheet metal and as you stand over the trunk, just to the left of the trunk release mech is a small black or green box measuring 1' X 1.5" X 3 or 4" with a small plug attached. Did not know there was one. Thought all brake lights just run through the switch to maybe a relay. My partner has the green one and it has a brown burn mark on the side. When we put mine in his car he had working brake lights. So therefore I believe the 'sensor' is bad and need a new one or even used if the price is right.
