Need a source for used or rebuilt 5spd trans

I while back my clutch went out and I got the car home. In the process I damaged the 2nd gear syncro. It still shifts into 2nd but with a grind. I want to have the trans rebuild but I was told that the gears are so expensive that it would be cheaper to get a used trans than rebuilding mine. Does anyone have a junk yard source that may have a 5spd trans?

In a rebuild you should only have to replace the syncros. Unless some material got between the gears its very unlikely that the gears themselves are bad. I think you can find rebuild kits at http://www.drivetrain.com
