I have a 1991 300zx Twin Turbo my ecu just took a dump on me. I have a guy who has a 1990 TT ECU. The question is will I be able to use the 1990 ECU? My air bag is already not working in case that matters.

To the best of my knowledge, they are compatible but I do have a few questions:

Q1. Do you know why your current ECU malfunctioned? (perhaps there may be a wiring fault or bad connection somewhere and you would end up with the same problem with another ECU)
Q2. Was your ECU socketed? If so, may I suggest you ensure the new ECU is also socketed and you write the saved *.bin file from your malfunctioning ECU to a new chip.

There will be other comments to follow, so read the feedback from others and the experts before proceeding.

Good Luck

Hello
Thanks for the reply im having my ecu socketed right now but the guy who is doing it has not soldered correctly and it is not working so i keep having to send it back to him. Since I do not have a ecu I can not drive my car so im looking to buy one also for a back-up or in case this guy ruins mine. Also does it matter if its JDM ECU?
