I was just browsing through some old threads about squeaky belts and I came across a DIY thread on how to adjust the belts and noticed something.
The first step listed was to "take the plastic cover (a.k.a. "splash guard") off on the bottom of the car".
Well, from what I can remember (and I am remembering correctly cause I just went outside and checked), my MY2001 QX4 2wd does not have a plastic cover that covers the pulleys and the fan and the front of the engine from below. Basically, when I open the hood and look where the belts and pulleys and the clutch fan are, I can see the ground.
Does that mean I lost mine somewhere? or does the MY2001 QX4's don't come with splash guards?
