I'm ready to powdercoat/paint a bunch of parts but I'm having a hard time picking a color scheme. It'd be amazing if someone could help Photoshop the color scheme I envision. I don't have Photoshop nor do I have any experience with it. I downloaded free Photoshop alternatives and all of the ones I used suck!

Could someone use this photo:

and incorporate this color of gold onto the chrome parts in the above pic (just plenum, p/s reservoir, upper boost hardpipes, balance tube, and throttle cover chrome strip. waterpipes aren't very visible from this angle so don't worry about them:

bonus points if you can black out the engine bay and 3-piece radiator cooling panels! I'm debating on whether to use white or red on the existing red parts in the pic. Any help I can get is greatly appreciated!

Damn that is a hell of a photo shop request haha. Should be interesting if someone can do that.

I have the power and the skill but don't know if I'll have the drive or even remember when I get home from work. I will try.

Haha yea, wish I had the means to do it myself.

That'd be solid! I remember years ago when I dabbled with it at school, there's a feature to let you color over existing objects pretty painlessly. Hope that sorta helps :gapteeth:

Yeah there's channels, and replace color features, for something this simple there are lots of avenues to get pretty much the same effect. I'm fairly proficient in it but I've got another 8 hours before I get off from a 14 hours day so I hope you understand if I forget or am just too tired. You said you want the engine bay blacked out, do you mean you just want to change the color of the sheetmetal to black?

Most definitely - do it at your leasure man! I've pulled 11-hr shifts but 14 sounds brutal!

Yep exactly - my engine bay is painted black, but it's a red Z.

13 - 14 is normal for me, I work on a remote site and do roster work so I get a bit of time off too.

Hey great job man, you're awesome - thanks a ton!

I like the bottom pic the most. I think it'll look great if I paint the rad shroud black and maybe the outside boost hard pipes black too, to mellow out the strong gold theme. Probably will black out the p/s res and keep stock fuse cover too. I think that's what I'm gonna go with!

Glad I could help, to do it properly would've taken about 4 hours and I just ran out of fuel last night but if this works for ya I'm happy to help.

Interesting idea.
Have you considered all black w/ gold?
I think it offsets nicely. Do you plan to plate the metal by chance?

Nicely done - I do like how that looks as well. That's a very strong contender. But I'm not sure: while I like the simplicity of it, at the same time I feel like it's still missing something. I'm also planning on eventually buying white 2-piece wheels with gold hardware, lugnuts, and calipers so the white in the engine bay might be that extra "umph" to put it over the top. At least I have a good idea of what the black/gold theme looks like if the white doesn't work out though :rotflmao

As far as plating - I hadn't considered that before simply because I don't know much about it. Seems like the prep time would be even greater than powder coat - can't let any of the plating get inside of the plenum, right? I'm definitely open to suggestions though :bigthumb:
