Lastnight we had over 150 cars at the weekly meet on SR50 in O-town. It's starting to get out of hand, I dont' mind the Supra's, RX-7's, WRX's, and the occasional IS300... but the ricers are coming out of the woodwork now to see all the cool cars. So we're starting to consider leaving the spot we've called home for the last 4 years and going for somthing else.

Anybody have any ideas?

let me know

What's wrong with Kissimmee? hehe.

I really do like the Orange and 50 spot, it's nice and we havn't been forced out at all since we started going there. Plus you get all the women on their way downtown passing by (always a plus). Sports Authority and Best Buy are both on the 'black list' of OPD so if we show up there we will more than likely get thrown back out.

Anybody know anything about the parking lot next to the Deli on Orange and 50?

agreed...wasn't out last night, but I heard about the crowd...

Our backup location of orange and 50? It's kinda tight though, not really room for more than 8 cars or so.

Sports Authority? The people who used to hang out there have all left...that location was pretty high profile though, might attract the wrong crowd again.

We should probably try and keep it around downtown orlando, that seems to be the most central for everybody in the area...some peeps up in altamonte, and those poor souls who live in kissimmee :)

Maybe try and share the parking lot with the vw meet?

the deli parking lot is still kinda small. What about the parking lot thats near smoky bones? Its pretty big, kinda like the one we use now.

On the other hand.....the more folks that show up..the more exposure for Nissans and in my opinion, the richer the experience. I'd encourage ya'll to stay there.

WE will start having NICO meets the first Saturday of every month at 10 AMish and each meet will have a featured model...THis should start in May. SD

Rex the problem is if we stay we are going to get kicked out, these people are the same group that got themselvs kicked out of Sonics AND bestbuy AND sports authority. So we either leave them to do their thing and do our thing, or we kick them out. There really isn't a 3rd option, they must be delt with somehow before we are getting run off by the cops and have a bad reputataion.

i dont know about that. i dont think these are the kinda kids that should be exposed to our type of scene. soon they'll think its alright to show up in their riced out drifterX, gtR, unpainted front bumper falling off, 240's, oh wait its already happening. I dont want to profile or anything, but damn, theyre all the same. burnouts, revving, loud stereo blasting obnoctious(sp?) sh!tty music, and the cars are eyesores. if we dont do anthing about the ricekids, we can kiss our rep and our spot goodbye.

paul, did you ever print out that set of rules for sharing the lot? so far, thats been the best idea. I know for sure, some of the rice kids respect the fact that its someone elses spot. a few weeks ago i got to the spot early, like 10pm or so, and then a group of kids in really ghettofied accords and corrollas showed up. i didnt bother talking to them i just left hoping they would too, seeing that the lot was empty and was gonna be for a while. anyway, before i left some of the kids began throwing trash and flyers all over the ground, and the driver yelled at them and made them pick it all up. he must have seen how me and my friend started getting pissed.

anyway, sorry for the long post. but the main point is: establishing rules might be a good idea. at least then they cant say they werent warned when we end up asking them to leave.

when i started my SR swap project, i was directed to the nico meets, since then, all the people there have been nothing but helpful. On top of that, its one of the most taken-careof spots in town. I'm not about to let a bunch of punk ricers ruin that.

again sorry for the long post.

My flyer to them would say....

LEAVE!!!

Unless your a Nissan or personal friend, there is no reason to be there,,, That meet is for people w/ the same likes and interests being Nissan. Most of these kids are past curfew (sp) anyhow. They need to just go to either Sonic on I Drive or 436 and Lk Underhill, they'll fit in perfectly there.

We all need to get together, buy one of those abandoned gas stations (theres plenty down town 50) and make it ours, no one can tell us to leave and WE will have the athority to tell others to get lost

Orlando Area “anti-rice” club rules and regulationsWe have been getting a lot of new people showing up lately, which is great, but we would like to lay down some simple rules and share a little bit about the history of this meet so that everybody may better appreciate what is going on.This club has been around in one form or another for over 5 years. In that 5 year span we have NEVER been kicked out by either the police or the owners of this property. We hope that this new list of rules will help us keep it that way.1. no burnouts, engine reving, or other behavior we see as unfit2. no loud music, if we can hear it 3 cars away it’s too loud3. no crusing the parking lot, you show up you find a spot, you park4. clean up after yourself, and if you see junk on the ground pick it up5. NO alcohol, none whatsoever…. We will call the police on you 6. strobes or neon lights are not to be used (it attracts too much attention and after all we are the ‘anti rice’ club)I hope these rules give you some idea about what we’re looking for. Beyond that please have a good time and have fun checking out all the great cars with your friends. And if you don’t want to follow these rules please don’t come, or else we will ask you to leave.

Sweet another nissan enthusiast:D

anyway, hope on I=4 going East towards downtown. Get off on the Colonial Drive (Highway 50) exit. Head up colonial towards fashion square mall. right before you get to the mall you will see a little shopping complex across the street and a beniganns on the corner. A bunch of cars will be there, that would be us and the group of ricers right next to us :(
