Ok, so my clutch is starting to go and I'm looking towards a new clutch. I've heard good things about ACT, so I looked around and found an ACT street hybrid clutch or something like that for $283 HERE . Is this a good deal? Is this the best clutch for me to order on my basically stock 240sx? Or is there a different clutch I should get or place I should get it from? Thanks guys!

if you got a stock 240sx go to pep boys and get a borg warner clutch. Theyre cheap and have a lifetime warrantee. No need for ACT if your 240 is stock.

Don't go with a stock replacement. I thought that it would be plenty for my 240 when it went out cuz i wasnt planning on doing any mods besides suspension, but when I'm doing donuts or trying to "drift" the clutch gets so hott that it starts to slip, and I might have 700 miles on it. Go with a spec stage one or somethign comperable

I went with the stock replacement and properly broke it in, and it seems to be fine for a mostly stock motor. I wasn't easy on the clutch this summer either. :D I've probably put about 2000 miles on the clutch. Being hard on the stock clutch will kill the time that it will last though. If you have the money to spend, go with a heavier clutch, if not, the stock replacements work fine.

The borg warners have a lifetime warrantee. If you burn it up you can take it back and they will give you a new one for free. I really cant say how long it will last but atleast if you dont mind changing the clutch you would never have to pay for another one.

my only concerns about the borg warner are quality and feel. I don't know much about clutches besides what I've read here (ACT=good, which is why I was looking at that). Are borg warners just stock replacements or are they any better/worse? Anyone have experience with these? I have no problem spending a little extra money if I'm going to enjoy the car more.

I am hard on clutches so I wanted to get one that would last longer, or so I hope. I went a bit overboard though and got a spec stage 3. Yeah not that bad, but very noticable difference on drivability.

How do you like that Spec III? A friend of mine got one and burned it up in like 6 months. He doesnt drive in any way to wear is out that fast. Maybe it was defective. Is yours a 4 or 6 puck? I was thinking of getting the 6 puck for a smoother engagement. A usually hear good things about spec.

Mine is a six puck. It seems to be just fine after quite a few miles. Did your friend break the clutch in really well? As far as engagement it is harsher than stock but not unbearable. I got it for the purpose of building a bigger badder ka. Then I got side tracked and ended up with just the clutch and no engine to match. :batman

Also I got mine from Enjuku. They had some awsome customer service.

So far Ive enjoyed dealing with Enjuku. i used to live down there in Fl and it would be nice to have them near by. They have good prices as well. As for braking in the clutch...not sure what he did. He's not an idiot so Im assuming he did it properly. I just hate hearing horror stories about stuff I own or plan to own.

Well I broke mine in for 500 miles in a lot of stop and go traffic. It is just fine. Also I have to do a lot of stop and go when I check the trailer lot at work. It is annoying having an manual at my job.
