Figured this would be the best place to find a reputable mechanic for my 240sx. I live in Carrollton, GA, will come up to Atlanta for a great, trustworthy mechanic. Any suggestions on shops?

Are you just looking for a mechanic to fix things? Or a performance shop with a tuner/etc?

For the time being I just need to make sure it runs. It is my only mode of transpo and the carrollton to ATL ride is LONG.

I'd love to modify it, but need the wheels until I can pick something else up to drive daily.

Right now my power steering fluid is leaking like there's no tomorrow and saturating all my belts. The slippage is getting pretty bad.

Valve cover gasket is blowing out some oil, but not a lot.

ah yes, and then there is the 'bambi' episode. Deer make a mess of a formerly nice 240sx

I love my car and its killing me to see it like this :(

People still "hang out" on Moreland?? Like on the way to Starlight drive-in? I havent been out there in a while, but I might have to check it out next time I'm in ATL.

Truthfully, I only know of really good performance shops. I dont know of any normal shops that I would trust. If anyone knows of a really trustworthy mechanic, I'd like to know as well.

Allspeed in Peachtreecity can do anytype of work that you need, although they are a little more pricy, you get what you pay for. I work at Crossroads Automotive in Newnan for another month before I leave for school again, They are ok, but yet again high. If it were my choice i would take it to a place that knows a little performance and yet still knows how to work on all types or cars like Allspeed, Most of all the other shops are just part changers. Dont really know a lot about cars....Just my .02 cents.

Yeah I am gettin some head work on my SR done there right now...Quality looks really good and shop is really clean so that is kind of a plus that they care enough to keep the shop clean. Says a lot for the Mechanics. Glen is really cool, very knowledagle also. Tim the owner is really cool too. Hope they treat you good...Have for me...

found them on the web at batlground.com They are on Ottley drive. Spoke with the guys there, their site says they specialize in 240's. They seem cool, hourly seems pretty decent as well.

Guy named Chip. Clip was in very good condition. Seems like the rest of his stuff was also in good condition.

Its a Z32 specialty shop with lots of parts cars. I'm sure they could/would do your PS hose and you might want to pick up some Z32 brake parts for a nice upgrade.

Have you tried BalancedPerformance? They're really good and of course also pricy. My friend works for Saab and he owns a 1st gen RX-7 that puts out about 400HP, so he knows his **** because he did everything on his own. He said don't go to battleground "the kid there doens't know ****"*he was talkin about the one who works on the supras* He said that anybody can tune a SUpra to be over 600HP...not that hard. It is for me since i'm not a mechanic hahha.

Well he originally asked for a mechanic. But man, balanced performance is one of the best shops you will ever find in atlanta. Those guys know their stuff. Especially about Ka-Ts and sr20 swaps. In fact, the last time I was up there, another performance shop sent them a swapped 240 that the shop messed up all of the wiring on and had tons of other problems. Balanced fixed it for them! Hah.

he knows his stuff and his pops definately knows his stuff.

they dont dabble on performance stuff too much but as for as maintainance goes...he's a good one.
