Hi folks, I am a new member who has been a lurker for a while and just became a member because I am ready to pull the trigger on a Q but would like someone honest and wise to go take a look at it first. This deal will be done on the phone if whoever checks it out gives me a thumbs up on the car. The car is at Nalley Infinity in Marietta, GA. If someone is close and could take a little time to check it out email me at [email protected], and I will give you my cell to coordinate. Thanks. Jim

Not sure you can tell much without a lift and serious few hour technical inspection/testing.

Something radical to consider is to PAY the service department to list the defects.

I expect the service manager to be honest even at the detriment of the family USED CAR LOT..........if they refuse to accept your money and provide a certified signed list then something is probably wrong.

Then again every used car has wear and tear.

T3 South Cobb is <15 minutes away at worst if you can get it delivered we can do evaluation via credit card and fax you results.

Never buy a car over the phone or even ebay if it is to be anything other than an experiment.

I just called the service department and they replaced; valve cover gaskets, the steering rack(rebuilt), 4 new tires, alignment, upper links?, and, some past history of being at the dealer for oil changes, and an antenna mast. From the sound of the car was very well maintained which is why the dealership has held on to it to sell. Usually they don't want something that old on the lot and it gets wholesaled.By the way for fear of sounding like an idiot(I'm new here) what or who is T3? and how would I get you or them to look the car over?

If the dealer is up and up, have them send you the Infiniti dealer performed service history for the car.

T-3 is the best independent Infiniti (and some L brand) shop in Atlanta, if not the country.

T-3 Automotive Ltd.5322 S. Cobb Dr.Atlanta, GA 30080(404) 794-7700

And welcome to the club.

PS - You do know it is illegal to drive a southern car in the winter on salted roads?

To my knowledge, T3 is the only combination independent Lexus and Infiniti repair facility that has been in business since 1995 in US.........currently 3 ATL locations. In all we have 10 technicans who work exclusively on these 2 brands............no German or US wantabees. You need to find a tech who owns a Q to be assured of total confidence. Half our techs own a Q the others drive Lexus or at least a Toyota.

Call Ty [owns 3 Q's] 404-794-7700 closest to Nalley Infiniti, unfortunately you or your rep will have to get the vehicle to us. We buy about $70,000 worth of parts from Nalley each month.

Thanks for the tip, and I will get them to do that. So far they seem to be pretty open.

We don't use salt here much anymore. They pre-soak the roads before storms in the winter with brine. Makes a helluva mess all over the cars but it apparently doesn't harm them like salt. It must work, my 92 LS4oo has no rust on it in 155k.

If Nalley Used Cars is ethical enough to bring a car to another company for inspection to facilitate a sale they are one in a million. But an over the phone sale is a rare situation.

Actually they are a very reputable company, I went to High School [40 years ago] with the children of the founder, who are still executives in the company.

Not to HiJack, but Sweet Q sounds like soon to be satisfied.

Anyway, since i have your attention, is it safe to say Nissan of America (800)NISSAN1 <yeah that nissan, can get Dealer work histories? If this is so, then why do they try so hard not to give it up?

I was shopping for a Pathfinder 2wks ago, Told salesman and her manager I needed NISSAN work history if he is to make the sale. Didn't get it, Didn't buy the car. Found another one, this time at a Toyota Dealer, I bought that one without any history, because they agreed to do all the work i wanted before delivery! ok!I called Nissan North america today, Registered as New Owner, Checked open Recalls and work. They said no recalls found and no work either anywhere in Nissan database...so I ask "do you typically have access to that stuff"..."No sir we usually don't, you would need to know the specific dealer Vehicle was serviced at".

SO, What's up with that guys, how in the He double hockey sticks do i get my hands on the Dealer history? Call Back?

Q45tech, Ty at T3 is doing me a big favor. I would like to send lunch for the folks over there. Could you tell me if there is a sandwich place that would deliver to the shop close by. Thanks

Unfortunately, T3 is in chain fast food city and all the guys are on healthy food.......new multi workout machines and weight benches.

I keep kidding them about a center fold spread in Buff Technican Magazine.

Please, Deal with TY directly on this.

Guys-

I'm new to this forum, and the world of Q's. Got a '94 t with, gasp, 212K miles...but it drives more like 70K. Exterior is MINT, and this vehicle seems like it was very well maintained.

Since this is now my daily driver, and I'm in the Atlanta area, what should I have Ty immediately address, even if it's just preventative?

Thanks in advance!

OBTW, you're right about fast food here...near their location that's all there is...except for a Hooters...at least it's scenic food...

Just have them do an in depth inspection and give you the bringing it back to OEM as new quote. Most customers are what's the least I can spend to keep it rolling kind.

I'm looking to get some preventable maintenance done on my 92 Q with 215k. I would also like an inspection to see a quote on back to OEM. I'm located in Savannah, GA, which is a long drive from Atlanta.

Does anyone know of a reputable mechanic/dealer in the Savannah or Coastal area?

Short easy drive compared to those members that came from Montana, N. Dakota, Iowa, Texas, Mass, Maine etc to T3 ATL specifically to get chain guides done.

This may sound dumb, but expertise triumphs over distance every time.

People keep asking me about Seattle shops, but I drove to Portland for a very good Infiniti Senior Technician, no sales tax, and becasue the Q45 is the king of the highway.

I am going to try this again. I got jerked over the last time by a dealer in ATL and it didn't work out. But Q45tech, and Ty, at T-3 were very helpful. Q45tech, if you would pass it along to Ty that I was doing my best to get the car to him but the dealer was dragging his feet, and, being 700 miles away didn't help. Anyway, they must have sold a lot of Q's down there because my next target is in Roswell, GA. Anybody with some free time willing to go eyeball a '96 for me and give me the skinny on it? The guy sounds like a certified car nut and say's he has a nice example of a 2 owner car. Drop me an email at [email protected] if you could. Thanks(a hope ful Q owner)

Atlanta must have one of the highest Infiniti (and especially Q) sale rates in the country. It's amazing to see how many of them are in the paper there vs. other large cities.

ATL is the elephant graveyard for Q............they are collected [follow the trail] from all over east coast and brought to........................ buy here pay here lots/auctions....................a [was a] popular car because of the low price compared to LS400.

We have 4 new [plus 3 shells] units [90-96] in the parts pile.
