The performance of my Bose system is okay enough for me, but I need a little more bass. It's quite adequate when listening to hip hop, but I listen to a lot more rock and want to feel the bass drum without having to blast the volume.

I'm not doing a bass tube since I've never had success with those in a trunk. Is there a factory location sub replacement w/ aftermarket amp solution or should I do a box in the trunk? Also, if you suggest box, would you recommend a single sub, or duals? And, of course, let me know what brands you like.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I'd suggest a small fiberglass enclosure in the trunk. Upgrading the door 10's would be nice but I don't believe anyone makes one slim enough to fit properly.

I thought I was likely going to end up with a trunk subwoofer. What are most guys using in their G35/37s? One 12", two 10s??

I'm sure either would work dependent on location.

In my 05 G35 coupe, I had 2 10's pushed by a large amp...plenty of bass. With the new G37, I'll probably do the same. For the amp high-level input, I'll use the rear deck "sub" and solder on RCA leads.

The subs will probably be mounted on the sides again...(here's a pic from my G35)

Joe, I love the idea of the side mounted subs. Doesn't seem to consume much room and it looks fantastic. I'm going to check into the cost; it appears to be a custom job and since I'm no good at fabrication I'll have to retain the services of a trained audio design professional.

Yes, it was custom. I had a friend who is a master installer at an audio shop do it in my driveway and at his home. The process isn't too complicated, but unless you're familiar with fiberglass I'd let a shop do it.

That's a nice, clean install. I think you just inspired a s***load of G drivers.

So what would you say the a good price from a local audio shop would be for doing a one 12 in the side trunk wall?

I still have my old box if anyone's interested...I mounted the amp in the front so when you put the seat down, you could adjust it.

It's sitting in my spare bedroom along with the finisher cover, collecting dust...make me an offer!
