Need a little info on how to get more out of a 92 b13 se-r

i have a 1992 nissan sentra se-r and i want to get 220 hp out of it id like to know the best way to go about doing that on a budget?i dont mind if i have to swap out the sr20de for a sr20det but i dont know if it will work with out having to change the trans or if it will fit. or go the other way and put better piston cam ect. not sure how to go about .

any input would be helpful ty .

Direct swap for a DET. You have other options (DE+T for instance) as well. Please use our search function (check this and the FWD SR20 forum) for more info.

if you can find an SR20VE and then some bolt ons might get you there as well.

If it's at the wheels, no, but 220 crank is within the realm of a VE + bolt ons.

thanks man . i am taking my time with it . this form has helped me alot with the info gathering . ill have to check to see how much mileage is on the trans it hasnt been driven hard i got the car from my dad.

Yeh, Bro! I have seen a lot of times people will spend MAD money on a NEW engine then 2-4 months roll around then POW!! the trans. goes DEAD I use to have 1979 Z28 - 1993 Escort - 1990 maxima - all of them had more than 110,000 +++ miles and Pow the Trans. goes bad then after they are fixed they run good but when my 1993 escort Trans. blew I sold it AS - IS and bought a NISSAN I bought the Escort for $ 250.00 and It lasted for a year a half so, I got my money out of it and It was not worth to put a new trans. in the car because it was a FORD! not a NISSAN! Plus YOU have to think how much longer you going to keep the car too. ALSO! you have CLASSIC too so, that is something to think about too. NISSAN + #1

ya i have an atachment to this car. its the car i learned how to drive in.i was planing on rebuilding this 1971 ford truck that has a small block 302 in it but it would cost as more then my rebuild of the nissan and not look as nice or handle as well. nore would the mpg be as good the truck got less then 12 mpg ...

Keep the Nissan Bro, It's so hard to find a good B-13 now a days Keep it in the family Take some pictures. Just think when you have a son/daughter and when they start growing up you can let he or she take care of it. I have a Sister that lives in Augusta, GA. and has a Nissan and she is going to give it to my 17 year old nehew when he's out of High School. My Dad also gave me His car to He had a 1990 Nissan Maxima then I sold it to my cousin and still has the car

after doing alot of research i decided i want to get the sr20ve but i ran it to a wall so to speak. so i ask another question can i use the stock sr20de computer with Apexi 401-A917 SAFC Neo Piggyback Fuel Management Unit? or would a stock sr20ve ecu work if i got the wire harness as well ? once again thank you for your time.

Ok so you want 220WHP and you on a budget . Ok here is my .02 cents.

SR20VE is an awesome N/A platform. You have a 92 SER like i do so you can get a piggy back like the Neo etc using you stock DE ecu.

To reach your goal or come close to it with a VE here is a list of things you will need. This is not cheap

I know a guy with a VERY fast VE he made 210whp with everything here.
