need a little help with my timing chain

ok so i have been reading some threads on the ka24de timing chains everyone says that the upper chain guide on the driver side is not needed and should be removed. if i was to buy just a set of oem chains is their anything else that should be replaced while in there. i figured there would be no need to buy a set with guides if they are not needed.... has anyone had any problems with the s.a. gear sets i have used them before with no issues just never on a ka engine

just some friendly advice to a fellow 240 guy would be greatly appreciated
