need a little help with choosing a car alarm...

basically i know that the alarm itself is going to be just as good if i buy a low end or a high end one... but i can pick up some crazy looking ones on ebay for around $100- $150 (they usually retail for like $350 to $500 or more)... so my question is this... if i do choose to get a high end one, which may or may not happen, i would like to know who has had experience with or have friends that have or whatever with high end alarms... or does anyone have any advice or whatever... in the past i have had a viper and a python alarm... they worked fine... i actually stayed ata hotel in hammond loiusiana (never stay there) on my way to texas one summer.... everyones car but mine was broken in to... i guess the viper alarm saved my *** cause at the time i had a bunch of stereo crap in there. i know i could just as well install a blinking light, but it's nice to have the alarm just in case i guess... both the viper and the python were a rip off considering the (lack of) features i got, but i also bought them retail before ebay really blew up. anyway any advice? i'm gonna buy one within a week.

Had a Viper alarm on my CR-X, never had a problem. Have an Alpine Alarm right now, no problems at all. Just don't settle with some cheap stuff you've never heard of.
