I know I vanished from here a while back, I do not drive either J anymore my son has the 95 and the wife the 97. This morning when she started the 97 to go to work it would start and just shut down, I can keep it running but it will not idle on its own or it will idle at around 200-300. I swapped the maf and TPS and changed the fuel filter no help there. I just drove 10 miles to get the codes pulled and had to keep giving it gas to prevent from stalling at a stop driving and shifting was fine. I had 8 codes they are listed below any advice where to start would be greatly appreciated. No history with this car I had a bad MAF a few years back this is actually the first time it could not be used by the wife since we owned it.

P0505 IAC valve
P0325 Knock Sensor
P0443 purge control
P1400 EGRC solenoid
and all 4 O2 sensors

I'm guessing the IAC valve is what is killing the idle.
Should be able to take it out and give it a good cleaning.
Not sure what the Purge control and EGRC codes would cause.
Somebody in the know will chime in soon I'm sure.
Good to see ya again buddy !

Thanks Yoda Turning the idle adj screw does not do anything, I will try the cleaning you recommended and test the knock sensor by putting a resistor in tonight.

That IAC valve was an adventure to remove but cleaning that seems to have done the trick, she started right up and did not stall currently there is no check engine light.  I will take it for a ride tomorrow night and see if anything resurfaces.

yah was about to say clean the iacv and check connectors for corrosion. probably stuck and car is dumping fuel so causing all the other sensors to act up and read out of the ordinary.
