Does anyone know if I have a bad egr temp sensor, will it always give a code?

I've been getting a code 32(egr). I've cleaned everything, changed the egr solenoid, and checked for any vacuum leaks as well as I could without actually taking the plenum off. I've even swapped out the actual egr valve. I'm thinking that either my temp sensor is bad or that my bpt valve is bad. I've checked the sensor according to the FSM, short of putting it in hot water and checking the resistance. I got 3.5v from the harness(FSM says approx. 5v) and continuity does exist. When I checked thevoltage and continuity on the sensor with the car running, I got nothing.

Someone please help, because I've had the car 2 months, I love it, but I can't figure this one out.

Tom, did you check for vacuum leaks at the solenoid, not on the valve itself...

I've checked for leaks every possible place I could without taking the plenum off. Although my idle does fluctuate a little, so maybe I'm not seeing a leak or I've got a bad vacuum connection.I guess I'll know when I take off the plenum to the the KS.

Shouldn't I be getting some sort of reading from the temp sensor(v or ohm)??

Are you getting any EGR? Try manually opening the valve at idle --use your fingers curled up under the top of the actuator--you should be able to move it easily--and when you open it the engine should die.

You MAY have a plugged up passage in the inlet air horn the heat cooks the oil vapors in there and makes coke that plugs it up. A plugged passage WILL give you low EGR temp error because there ain't any flow to let the hot exhaust gas raise the temp.
