doing the rear AGX and RSR springs. Here are my problems:

1. on 1 side the 17mm bolt bolt that holds the shock to the suspension won't come loose. Soaked it in pb blaster all night to no avail. I think I'm going to try to jack the suspension arm up along w/ the shock to see if that'll help making it easier to loosen the bolt.

2. the other side was easily done, the new shock and springs is sitting on the car. However the torque spec according to the FSM is 72 lb ft for the 17mm bolt, which is like 840+ lb in of torque. I've tried as hard as I can to torque the bolt, but it's not there yet, I read fiznat's install and he recommended having the car on the ground before torqueing everything down. I don't have ramps, so any other way to torque them down to spec?

any thanks is greatly appreciated.

err I posted in the wrong forum, can some1 move this to the 240 forum? thanks.

1. Keep trying? :) Seriously though, try getting a longer socket/breaker bar and keep working with it. Last resort would be taking a hammer to the breaker bar once it's on the nut. I've done that a couple times and it seems to loosen it ok and haven't had anything break on me yet.

2. 72 lb/ft isn't all that much... are you using a smaller torque wrench? With lb-in? If so, I would see if someone else has a larger one you could use for the job maybe? I did mine with the wheels off the ground and it turned out ok.

ok thanks...

yea I just wanted to clear the fact up that 840+ lb in wasn't too high... I didn't tihnk I did my math wrong. Just needed to confirm that.

for the bolt, what i did was take a long bar and shove it in the end of the wrench, since its longer it gives the wrench more torque.

Lots of PB Blaster and a breaker bar, along with some swearing, sweat and blood.
