WAY too sunken in. From the tires, it sounds like they're 7" - 7.5" wide.

Think about it like this. About 7" wide +0 is flush. Adjust accordingly to size. The number after the + is in mm, the width of the wheel in inches.

So like, if you wanted to see what offset you wanted an 8" wheel, add the equivalent of 1" to the offset. Get it? And it's ok to be past flush too, just think of that starting "flush base formula" as your minimum. Ya dig?

It's not really about the width, but the OFFSET. Offset is key. As for width, I wouldn't go under 8" especially on an s14. If you want something narrower, stay with oem wheels.

If you're on a budget, sportmax is always there. And so is Rota. Or if you want something nicer for a decent price, look on the classifieds here and on Zilvia. You could even try craigslist and your local forums/boards.

Some decent cheap, new wheels are anything sportmax (aka xxr), rota, and some others. The xxr 962 are very popular. But if you are going to get those, PLEASE don't get the x7 x9 stagger. x7 up front looks awful. Again with the x8 minimum.

Keep the wheel sizes 8" or wider. That should be your bare minimum. Keep the offset under +25. Anything over +25 is going to be too sunken in, +25 is already a little sunken in.

if I were you, I'd aim for 17x9 with the lowest offset they got (which i think is a +35, but if they have something lower, preferably in the +20s range, go for it)

The only reason you would need spacers is to clear your coilover/strut up front. They go in between the wheel and hub to space the wheel out more, basically lowering the offset even more. If the wheels clear your coilover/strut without spacers, don't use them.

The wheels in those sizes WILL stick out, most definitely. So you'll either need to run some camber or pull your fenders. A fender roll (not pull) is required without exception, so expect that.

coilovers or not... it doesn't matter. The suspension doesn't affect where the wheel will sit in regards to wheel to fender fitment.
