Ok, so i have this 90 240sx, someone dropped a 97 KA in it and its a pretty poor job. As of right now i have school starting in 30 days which i have to take a loan for 5 grand for, (student loan of course so i wont have to worry about it for a decade or so) anyways at this point in my life im getting owned and i need someones help, just wondering if its out there.RIght now my car will not run for more then 15 minutes in daytime, i cannot find the problem with the wiring and im going to drive it off a cliff. The clutch is shot, the transmission is shot, It overheats because the bastard rigged the fans something horrible and i keep having to rig them again with switches to turn them on. THe brakes are gone someone backed into me at work and destroyed my rear qtr panel and my rear left tire has belts hanging out. 2 of my freinds drive STI's my best freind just got a new turbo dsm (rat b@stard) and my girlfreinds Ex has a prelude that pounds me from day to day (that really hurts) I want to take my own life - But instead im thinking of taking a loan, dropping that ka24trashmachine and purchasing a good ole fashion redtop. The only problem is the most i can take is about 5 G's and swap prices at shops are INSANE. SO, basically If theres anyone who lives in the DFW or anywhere else that can do a swap for real and help me out if it breaks, please qoute a price or whatever you would need to do it. If someone out there has a big heart, or loves swapping in sr20's hit me on 817-706-0678 and lets have a chat.

dude get one of your buddies to help you with the motor install. the wiring info's everywhere, and so are the details on the install. if you've got questions, you can ask around over here for more help. I'm not in TX or anything, but I'm willing to lend a hand over online if that's not too bad for you. just grab a friend and you'll be set.

instead of dropping 5k in a motor and still having all those other problems why dont you get 3k fix the problems you have now, namely tires, brakes, and engine related......save your money from summer jobs or whatever work you do during college and do the swap later...increasing power without a safe platform to use it is about as irresponsible a thing you could possibly do...and look at it this way if your girl was that hung up on your car being slower she would still be with the other guy, but if you get in a wreck because of an ill based decision and she is hurt then your sure to be single again...i once owned a car that did 0 -60 sometimes other times not..yes it was embarrasing but i upgraded in due time...get the basics done and upgrade your ride in due time all things good are worth waiting for

Hey man, when you lookin to do the swap? I may be able to come help for a few days (depending on what my work schedule looks like) It is a really easy swap, just the wiring is a biotch. I HIGHLY reccomend paying the $100-$200 to have the harnesses spliced at a shop.

one option (though it's a long shot) is to call a guy I met once named Tay. I was in my S13 and he pulled up beside me and womped some RSX that was charging me up. We pulled off and he showed me his redtop and it was a real clean swap. Said he did it himself and would do mine for me, or let me help him do it for $500. So if you could come up with a motor (project silvia is local, as is EN Tuning) he could probably help you. I live in Grand Prairie, so shoot me an e-mail if u wanna try to contact that guy (or maybe me and a few friends could help you out).

I like sdwyzs14 's idea. Im in the same boat except my motor is f#$%d. The car is litterally worthless. But im getting a check for $4500 soon. So i may just drop another ka in the mean time. AFter all i have school and dwi swallowing my money.. And it would be interesting to see how quick i can get my ka.. I had my 91 fastback doing some pretty amazing runs.. damn oil drain plug... id brag about some of my victories.. but i want some time slips or dyno sheets to back up my stories.. so uhm yea.. i would wait on it as well.. looks like that's what im gonna do..besides.. its an awful lot of money to spend on that swap.. and well.. i just dont think its worth the money.. but i guess who ever said going fast was cheap lol :pface

Well sdwyzs14 is right, but my platform would be stable with 5g's an engine wouldnt cost an entire 5g's tires, brakes and suspension could be done with my checks coming in plus the borrowed money..but the real problem is im overreacting my ka runs fine..its really just the godd@mn wiring thats screwed, or the ecu... its probably an easy fix for someone who knows what they are doing, i dunno im going to post my wquestions on the technical thread if anyone wants to help me out there.
