I was looking at the ones on ebay the universal BOV with flanges for about $60 are the even worth buying, or are the gonna sound like a duck call when i install it?

The crushed 1st Gen DSM one takes a bit of 'technique' to get to work right. Depending on the amount of boost...

Turbo XS makes very good products for the money. They aren't for the everyday race car, but are good for mildly modified vehicles.

The way I always do them is to put them in a vice from top to bottom. put a mighty vac on the vacuum nipple pull about 15-18 inhg with it and smash the bov in the vice until you see the diaphragm start to unseat. It will hold 20-22ish done like this and you shouldn't get any flutter. If ur running lower boost say like 8-10 pull no more than 15 and smash until you see the diaphragm move.
