I been messing with the Sr20de..Det for 4 years now... I need to start getting into the ve and the vet.. I think that this would be more of a challange. Do any one out there know a place that carries the Vet.. if yall didnt know it first came in the X-trail...in 2001.. I check all teh wed site and look for front clips and I know that I cant find one.. If you have a buddy that import motor from japan. I want a price on a Sr20Vet...

wow i didnt even know they made a VET, I knew there was a VE. Anyways if you find one let us know where and how much!, you could always just turbo a VE.

Im betting $2000 ~ $2500 for engine alone

Tossing a turbo on a regular VE sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. I can't imagine that they left the higher compression ratio without serious reinforcement for the VET.

Good luck finding one, it's no small task.

on g20.net there's a guy in southern california that made his ve a vet, he blew the block, but he didnt build it at all, kinda was thrown together. he get another de block and is building or built it. so it is possible to make a ve a vet, just goes for how much you want to spend

Here is a cheap VE-T combo that will clear 450-480 WHP easily at 20 PSI.

SR16VE motor $1000

SR20 cam gears set at -5 In, +5 Ex

SR20DE crank $100

SR20DET rods $100

SR20DET pistons about 9.3-1 compression New with rings $280 or used $120

SR20VE steal head gasket from Mossy $85

New Crank and Rod Beaings $270.

N1 intake and TB from Mossy $450

740cc side feed injs $540 on EBAY

T3T04 Turbo .63 turbine, stage 5 wheel with 60 trim or larger compressor wheel.

Turbo Manifold Log or equal length $400-$800

That will net 450-480 WHP at 20 PSI all day with no stress.

This comes from the assumption that DET guys make 400-420 WHP at 20 PSI. The VE with better head and bigger cams will net an xtra 50 WHP while costing less t0 build.

Yes, it's an SR.

Mounts aren't based on engine size.

ive been looking at the sr20vet for a while now, and havnt been able to find one yet, havnt really been trying that hard though. need mor infor first, before i go off and find that engine, i was wonderin if anyone knows how hard it would be to make it run. ive been reading up on it from several forums but still cant seem to figure out a few things. maybe someone here can help out. 1) will the stock vet ecu work with a 5 sp transmission since the vet comes wiht cvt 6 speed.2)are the gaskets and seals on the vet the same as the ve?3)are the headers the same from ve to vet, i think the headers are the same from de to ve??4)will any sr20de transmission bolt rite up to it? i have a 95 200sx se, so i would need to do alot of changing to my car. yes i noe.and this quesiton is not really realted to the vet, but5) is there a year range for which parts are interchangable? or do i need to get the same year like for brake calipers from nx2000 for front and maxima disc brakes for back and the master cylinder etc etc, do i need to get parts from a 95 car or is there a range of years in which parts are teh same? Thanks guys

I THINK the answer to your first question would be No. You will need to reprogram it or get it reprogramed to work with the 5 speed transmission. if you can even do that.

All the stuff made to fit the sr20de will fit all sr20xx, so the answer to your third question is yes

As far as your fifth question. im not sure, but i think you would have to stick to your model. for ex. if you have a B14 get stuff from a B14.
