I'm at the point where I need a chip for my ECU. I need to get rid of the damn fuel cut. I have S14 T28, J30 Mafs and I'm gonna be doing RX7 FC S4 550cc injectors. Is there someone here that can do it? Anyone know anyone in Europe who sells them?

John (slw240) is supposed to be able to, but I'm not sure what all he has set up yet. He's kinda busy right now too.

Here are a few Brit sites that list chips.

Hi

I'm Jez from Horsham Developments. I've just been speaking to cuzan0 on messenger and he asked me to post.

With regard to the original question, I don't currently do an off the shelf chip for the J30 AFM and 550cc injectors. I do do a chip that will work very well the S14 T28 however, but that requires a Z32 AFM and 440cc injectors (which I can supply if required). That'll give around 285bhp at 15psi, or with a T28 hybrid around 315bhp @ 17psi.

IMO you can't guess the mapping for a chip - you need to map it on a rolling road while monitoring fuelling optimising ignition timing - that chip will then work quite well with others car of a similar specification.

The fuel cut is there for a reason, but who wants to be limited to ~200bhp...

On a completely different note, heres a couple of pics of the engine I'm about to install into my S13 :) http://www.h-dev.co.uk/images/...1.jpg and http://www.h-dev.co.uk/images/...2.jpg

Hi,

It doesn't matter what size of turbo you are using, the program is written according to your fuel injectors size and according to your maf,

I do have a jwt program for the 550cc and z32 maf which I believe it is the same as the J30maf, but the program is written for the ca16de ecu to run the ca18det engine, not sure if the chip will work if you plug it onto your ecu.

If some one can verify that it will work, we can work something one.

Thanks,

the Infinit J30 and the Z32 MAFS are the same thing. They both had the RWD VG30DE motor. And no, I'm pretty sure the CA16 ecu won't work with the CA18 wiring loom. Too bad you don't have that combo for 550cc injectors...

Yeah, I have SAFC to put the J30 mafs (which is the same as Z32 except it has one more groud wire).

How much can you provide the chip and the injectors for, Jez? I'm really not willing to pay $400 when I can find FC3S injectors pretty much everywhere for less than $100...And what exactly is a T28 hybrid? Is that a T25 w/ T28 internals? T28 w/ T3 internals?? Sounds cool!I noticed on your site that you have each chip rated for a certain psi. Is there a failsafe beyond that? Will it not work if you do exceed that boost?

Why do you want a chip if you spent money on a SAFC? Just wondering?

A chip and injectors would be £275 = $500 (bad exchange rate at the mo for you guys :( )

The T28 hybrid is, I think, an S14 SR20DET T28 with a T3 compressor wheel. The one I have is from Norris Designs, sposed to be rated to ~320bhp.

With my off the shelf chips I tend to map them for a certain psi which has been deemed safe (by myself and others (from the SXOC) practical experiences). Theres no reason why you have to stick to the boost pressures I recommend, assuming you're not getting detonation and the AFR is OK :)

The trouble with the SAFC is that it just modifies the air flow meter signal - this means that you are restricted to using the standard ECUs injection map for a given rpm. I've found on S14s that you can't get the right mixture at low revs because the standard ECU fuel map just doesn't have big enough numbers in the map.

I hope that makes sense - seems a bit garbled to me...

The SAFC is very good for fine tuning an off the shelf chip though :)

BTW - all my chips have the fuel cut removed as standard, but this is optional.
